After success of EDITION NY, London, Miami and other locations, EDITION opened new hotel in Shanghai with design by Neri&Hu.
Like other EDITION Hotels, Ian Schrager team supervisions entire designs, and Neri&Hu created the new contemporary luxury spaces by bridging the western modern and Asian sensibility in EDITION luxury contexts.

EDITION Shanghai is located along Nanjing East road, high-street toward to riverside most luxury area called BUND. Neri&Hu converted the two historical existing buildings to 145 guest rooms EDITION. This hotel has 5 meeting studios, 2 forums, and 9 restaurants&bars including 2 roof top bars and 1 night club. The hotel is embodying “lobby socializing” concept Ian Schrager started, and the inside/outside guests can enjoy the entire life-style within this one hotel.

While the public area has characteristic design elements by Neri&Hu with Ian Schrager – like the large glowing sphere in the high ceiling lobby bar surrounded by walnut walls or like the brass spiral staircase from the Japanese restaurant to the rooftop bar, the guest room is simple and calm with light wooden interiors with less elements. It shows good contrast between public area and guest rooms, and let internal guest feel home and escape from urban city.
